Intense, mysterious, and secretly a softie, the Celestial Buddies Lucky Stars Scorpio Buddy is a cute zodiac plush bag charm inspired by Antares, the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius. Its deep crimson plush matches the real star's famous red glow, and its plush, cuddly shape proves Scorpios aren't as prickly as they seem.
Clip it to a backpack, purse, or keys with its star-shaped clip, then read the card to meet the giant red star at the scorpion's heart.
Meet your star: Antares
The astronomy: Antares is a red supergiant about 550 light-years away and roughly 700 times wider than our Sun. If it sat where the Sun does, it would swallow the orbit of Mars.
The mythology: In Greek myth, a scorpion was sent to defeat the boastful hunter Orion. The two were placed on opposite sides of the sky, so as Scorpius rises, Orion sets, and they're never seen together.
The name: Antares means "rival of Ares" (Mars) in Greek, because its fiery red color rivals the Red Planet's.
