Jupiter…is a big, bold giant, the King of the Planets! Being the most massive planet in our Solar System certainly has its perks!

I am the largest planet of the Solar System, 2 ½ times the mass of all the other planets combined, so it makes sense that I am named after the Roman King of the Gods! I am the fifth planet and first gas giant from the Sun. Gas giants have thick atmospheres of hydrogen and helium that become denser closer to the core. The distinctive stripes on my exterior are a result of my rapid rotation which generates high velocity winds that create the dynamic horizontal bands of clouds. The Giant Red Spot, my most recognizable feature, is a hurricane-like storm almost as big as the Earth.  The planets closer to the Sun have zero, one or two moons . . .I have at least 79, although only four of them, the ones first discovered by the famous astronomer Galileo in the year 1610, can be seen with a small telescope.

Pleasantly surprised

I read poor comments about the company but decided to do it anyway. My 3 year old grandson is learning all about the planets and Jupiter is his favorite. The shipment arrived and we love it. He loves it but says the red spot (his nose) isn’t big enough.

My grandson is autistic, and his passionate about the solar system and major landmarks. So when he saw the celestial buddies on his tablet he would spend alot of his time looking at them. He was really happy Chrisrmas morning when he got his celestial buddies.

You really cannot beat the quality of Celestial Buddies plush toys, or the way that they make learning about the planets fun -- for children and adults. We have all of them and get such a kick out of Jupiter because it's so big and heavy! It's easily the heaviest of all the planets, and we laughed when we figured out that its nose represents Jupiter's famous Red Spot! The design team for this company gets an A+ from our family. Great product -- you won't regret buying any of these planets.
